Contractors frequently suggest Stone Edge Surfaces products to fulfill project needs. Stone Edge Surfaces now has SPECs on all of our cementitious products and sealers listed on ARCAT. Since our products are on ARCAT, architects can easily find their SPECs and paste them into the building specifications as approved products for the contractors to use in large commercial projects.
Of this new development, company president Bruce Grogg recalled a recent call with an architect who was referred to Stone Edge Surfaces by the main contractor. The contractor believed that Pro Bond Ultra and Smooth Coat would be perfect fits for the project’s needs. Upon researching the products, the architect was thrilled to hear that Stone Edge Surfaces products now have SPECs.
Stone Edge Surfaces products can be SPEC’d into commercial projects as sloping compounds, resurfacing compounds, overlay material, repair compounds, patching compounds, and more.
Our top products include: Pro Bond Ultra, SwiftSet Self-Leveler, Concrete Patch Repair (CPR), Deck Seal, and Smooth Coat. These can be used for concrete patches, repairs, refurbishment, restoration, and rehabilitation in commercial applications.
Pro Bond Ultra is a primer-less, pumpable, heavily polymerized, “one-coat” repair, resurfacing, and sloping compound. It is commercial grade and just needs water to become usable. It is ASTM E84 Fire and Smoke Class A Certified.
Pro Bond Ultra has a “larger” gradation of sand in order to perform many different functions, from concrete repair and refurbishment to use as a sloping compound to use as an underlayment and even vertical use as a parging compound. It can be applied as a feather finish or all the way to 6 inches thick.
It has extreme bonding capabilities to adhere to most substrates and high flexural strength. It can accept overlays, sealers, and topical coloring. It has an average of 1-2 hours working time.
SwiftSet Self-Leveler is a non-gypsum, fast-setting, self-leveling underlayment or base coat enhanced with polymers. It is made of Portland and hydraulic cement with proprietary additives. It just needs water and is pre-sanded. SwiftSet Self-Leveler does not require a primer. It is Indoor ASTM E84 Fire and Smoke Class A Certified.
SwiftSet Self Leveler is used to create smooth, flat, level surfaces prior to installation of flooring. It also repairs and levels low spots in concrete substrates. It can be pumped or poured and can be ground after curing.
Set and use times vary depending on use. It sets within 2-4 hours. It is walkable within 4-6 hours. Non-moisture-sensitive floor coverings can be installed after 4-8 hours. Moisture-sensitive floor coverings can be installed after 6-24 hours. It is driveable after 24-48 hours.
Concrete Patch Repair is a polymer-modified cementitious concrete patch and repair mix with superior bonding strength. It is fast-setting and just needs water. This product does not require a primer, however, the surface must be dampened prior to application. It uses hydraulic cement for a decreased carbon footprint.
CPR is used to repair or rebuild concrete surfaces. It can be poured or troweled horizontally, vertically, and overhead. It is resistant to wear, abrasion, and slipping. When mixed thin, it is suitable for cracks, low spots, and horizontal grouting. When mixed thick, it is suitable for repairing or rebuilding vertical concrete. It can be used as an underlayment for overlays and as a scratch coat, in a pinch.
It can be applied anywhere from 6”+ deep to feather thin. It has a working time of 5-15 minutes in warm temperatures with a 15-30 minute average set time. For structural strength, allow to set for 1-2 hours.
Deck Seal is a tintable, water-based, waterproofing sealer for concrete or wood. It is made of 100% acrylic and urethane resin with insulating ceramic that dries to a matte finish. It provides excellent adhesion on both clean and unsealed decks or on previously coated decks that have underdone proper preparation.
Deck Seal can be used for pool decks, patios, stairs, walkways, and more. It is usable as both a top coat and a stand-alone sealer. It has an off-white base but can be mixed with our Deck Seal Tint Pack colors to match the client’s desired aesthetic, as determined by the architect. It is UV stable, so it is non-yellowing.
It is manufactured to withstand wear and tear from foot traffic, impact from furniture, and freeze/thaw conditions. It is mildew resistant, strong, and durable. It is compliant with all 50 states’ VOC regulations. It dries to the touch within 1-2 hours and can be recoated after 12 hours. It takes 5-7 days to cure. 2 coats are recommended, though 1 can be used in certain circumstances.
Smooth Coat is a primer-less, heavily polymerized “one coat” resurfacing compound for concrete. It just needs water and is pumpable. It is designed for thin applications, from feather-thin to 1’8” depth maximum.
Smooth Coat is suitable for resurfacing and finishing sidewalks, driveways, walkways, patios, ramps, and more. It is commonly applied over concrete floors, deck waterproofing systems, and cementitious base coats. It can have a smooth finish or hold a light texture.
It takes 30 minutes to 2 hours to work with, depending on the process, the temperature, and the desired thickness. It can be pumped, troweled, or sprayed.
